This rubber gasket is located between the fuel pump mount and the fuel tank and prevents gasoline from leaking out of the system. After decades - the rubber can dry out and wear - causing a gasoline smell in the car or actual gasoline loss. The OEM number 113 127 313 fits all air-cooled VWs from T1 to T3. Combine this with a new fuel pump or a complete gasket kit for thorough maintenance.
