This rubber end plug (040 101 157) seals the opening in the crankcase where the camshaft emerges - ensuring watertightness and dust protection. It fits all standard engines except the 25 and 30 hp versions. Replace this plug during any engine maintenance where you open the crankcase - as the rubber hardens after years and loses its sealing properties. Combine this with a new end plug for the other side of the camshaft and fresh gaskets around the crankcase cover for a complete overhaul.
