This thin copper gasket sits between the side of your gearbox and the crankcase - preventing oil from leaking past the hexagonal flange. The 0.30mm thickness is precisely right for a tight-fitting connection without excessive tightening. OEM number 111 501 131A is standard for T1 - Type 3 - Karmann Ghia - and Type 181. Combine this with a new set of clutch gaskets if you're already working on the gearbox.
