Left rear brake backing plate for the VW Beetle up to 10/1957, OEM number 113 609 439. The plate is attached to the rear axle and carries the wheel cylinder, brake shoes and associated springs. Replacement is required in case of corrosion or distortion of the mounting surface that prevents the brake components from aligning correctly.
