This rubber buffer ensures that your brake pressure switch doesn't directly hit the metal mounting bracket - thereby protecting its contact points from premature wear. The part sits between the switch and the bracket - absorbing the shocks that occur when you press the brake. This is a suitable replacement part for T1 - T2 - Type 3 - Karmann Ghia - and Type 181. Combine this with a new brake pressure switch itself for a complete overhaul of your brake light system.
